
This course describes how the American National Catholic Church locates herself in the larger Church Catholic, and how the Church is part of God’s plan of salvation. The course explores the origin and development of the National Catholic Church from the first millennium. Utilizing the Catholic theological perspective of the Church as the Body of Christ, the course will focus on the pastoral dimensions of articulating an understanding of the National Catholic Church. The course will address the way in which the ANCC and the Independent Sacramental Movement are a pilgrim people, called into existence to gather humankind into a living witness of the presence of the Kingdom among us. The course will be conducted in a seminar format with discussions focusing on actions leading to a comprehension of the way that the Church is at the service of humankind.
