Liturgy is about more than knowing ceremonial and how to celebrate the great liturgies of the Church. This ten-week course will introduce participants to the theology that underlies much of what we do when we celebrate the mysteries of Christ’s presence when we gather for worship. We will explore the Church’s liturgies leading to Vatican II and post Vatican II. Some of the topics that will be covered are: structure of the liturgy and flow, role of music, role of the environment, liturgical year, and other liturgical and sacramental celebrations.
