One of the most important and yet controversial figures in history, Paul of Tarsus is loved by many as the “founder of Christianity” and despised by others as being a pretentious “false prophet.” This course will explore the many dimensions of the person of Paul, and his teachings in their sociohistorical and theological contexts, considering the documentary sources upon which Pauline Studies are based, and examining how different understandings of Paul have been formulated.
